The Wevelo buyer’s guide to carbon road bike handlebars

Road bike handlebars are often overlooked when it comes to upgrades. Most bikes come with handlebars based on a generally estimated shoulder width and can sometimes be too wide or narrow for the rider.

Choosing a new handlebar can help improve the handling, comfort, efficiency and depending on the bar you choose, decrease the weight of the bike.

It’s best to measure the width of your shoulders and match to the desired bar width before buying. If you can you might want to pop down to your local bike shop and try a few for size.

We’ve put together this buyer’s guide to road bike handlebars as a starting point as they are very much a personal preference.
